Class 6 – Eligibility

For admissions (Session 2027–28)

  • Age Limit: Candidate must be between 9 and 13 years as on 31 March of the admission year.

  • Date of Birth Range (2027–28): Born between 1 April 2015 and 31 March 2017 (both days inclusive).

  • Education: Student must have passed Class 5th from a recognised school at the time of admission.

  • District Requirement:
    Student must apply for JNV of the same district where currently studying in Class 5th
    Residence certificate may be required

  • Nationality: Only Indian citizens are eligible.

  • Gender: Boys and girls both are eligible for Class 6th admissions.

Admission is based on:

  • Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya Selection Test (JNVST)

  • Merit-Based Selection

Class 6 – Eligibility

For Sainik School admissions (Session 2026–27)

  • Age Limit: Candidate must be between 10 and 12 years as on 31 March of the admission year.

  • Date of Birth Range (2026–27): Born between 1 April 2014 and 31 March 2016 (both days inclusive).

  • Current Class: Child should be studying in Class 5 in a recognised school at the time of application.

  • Nationality: Only Indian citizens are eligible.

  • Gender: Boys and girls both are eligible for Class 6 admissions.

Admission is based on the All India Sainik Schools Entrance Examination (AISSEE), followed by document verification and medical fitness.

Class 9 – Eligibility

For admissions (Session 2027–28)

  • Age Limit: Candidate must be between 13 and 16 years as on 31 March of the admission year.

  • Date of Birth Range (2027–28): Born between 1 April 2013 and 31 March 2015 (both days inclusive).

  • Education: Student must have passed Class 8th from a recognised school at the time of admission.

  • District Requirement:
    Student must apply for JNV of the same district where currently studying in Class 5th
    Residence certificate may be required

  • Nationality: Only Indian citizens are eligible.

  • Gender: Boys and girls both are eligible for Class 9th admissions.
